SHAUNA PLUNKETT
Shauna Plunkett is a native Elko resident, having lived here most of her life. Shauna attended Elko High School and participated in Choraliers, Band, and of course, the theatre department. Shauna has had many roles both on and off the stage with community theatre and the high school. She has played the roles of Mother Abbess in the Sound of Music, Factory Girl in Les Miserables, Reno’s Angel Virtue in Anything Goes, and has worked as the Music Director for Matilda Jr., Little Shop of Horrors, and Shrek. Shauna enjoys her work with Overland Stage Theatre Company and hopes to serve as long as she can.

KRISTIN GAUL
Kristin grew up in Belgium and Virginia, before moving out west to attend college. She moved to Elko with her husband in 2014 and immediately became involved in the community theatre scene, with GBC’s production of Les Misérables. She has since been an active participant in both Overland and GBC productions. Some of her featured roles have included Nimue in Camelot, Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, and her favorite, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. She was also the choreographer for Overland’s productions of Matilda Jr. and Little Shop of Horrors. Outside of theatre, Kristin coaches the Elko High School colorguard, runs a photography business, and is a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters.

JEANINE HOSKINS
Jeanine Hoskins was born and raised in Elko. She is currently the theatre director at Elko High School, where she has directed all shows since its inception. Her leadership and vision also led to establishing a theatre technology program, which achieved considerable success, evidenced by winning a silver award in its first year and gold the second year. Hoskins’ dedication and talent in theatre direction were recognized in 2022 when she was named Theatre Director of the Year, an accolade that underscored her expertise and impact in the field. Hoskins has taught a variety of ages in her many years of teaching. She loves working with youth of all ages in the Theatre community. She is enthusiastic about her role with Overland and also serves on the Nevada State Thespian Board.

D’ETTE MAWSON
D’ette Mawson made her theatre debut in Overland Stage Theatre Company’s Animation on Stage. She has recently stepped into the role of director, directing Matilda the Musical Junior and That Broadway Moment a Broadway Revue. D’ette is currently serving as the Publicity and Marketing Specialist for the Overland Stage Theatre Company’s board of directors.

IZAAK PLUNKETT
Izaak currently serves as the parliamentarian for Overland Stage Theatre Company and is a dedicated theatre director with extensive experience both on and off the stage. Over the years, Izaak has co-directed five diverse and acclaimed productions, including a captivating rendition of Peter Pan, the whimsical Alice in Wonderland, a dark and gothic adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s stories, Shrek: The Musical, and The Great Gatsby. In 2024, he was honored with the Associate Theatre Director of the Year award at the Nevada Thespians conference, a testament to the passion and commitment Izaak has for the theatre. Born and raised in Iowa, Izaak moved to Salt Lake City in 2016 to be with his wife, Shauna. In 2019, they relocated to Elko, her hometown, where he began a career as a radio show host and ad producer for a couple of years. In 2021, Izaak transitioned to teaching English at Elko High School, and in 2024, he resumed work with the radio alongside teaching. Having performed in a variety of roles since middle school, Izaak remains dedicated to bringing the transformative power of the arts to our community.

MERYNTHA HARO
Meryntha has been passionate about the performing arts since she was young. Beginning her journey with dance, she quickly developed a love for the stage. Her involvement in theatre started in high school, and she has remained active in music and theatre ever since. She has taught theatre arts to children and directed numerous productions for young actors. She also has a keen interest in costuming and worked as costume designer in Overland’s Jr. Productions of Little Mermaid, Shrek, The Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and the Beast. Her most recent adventure, which is closest to her heart, was directing Little Shop of Horrors—a lifelong dream come true. Although she now spends more time behind the scenes rather than performing on stage, she has grown to appreciate every facet of theatre production and will always be drawn to the art.
